Borovets is the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria located in Rila Mountains.
It is located 70 km from Sofia, through a road following Iskar River. Sofia is connected to Borovets by the road No 82 from Sofia to Samokov and continue to Borovets. It takes approximately an hour from Sofia to the oldest Bulgarian ski resort.
Numerous modern hotels, chalets and apartment complexes have been constructed close to the former communist architectural glories.
