Borovets is the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria located in Rila Mountains.
During the summer it is also a famous hiking destination. It is located 140 km from Sofia, through a picturesque road following Maritsa River. Close to Borovets is the town of Samokov.
It takes approximately an two hours from Plovdiv to the oldest Borovets. Numerous modern hotels, chalets and apartment complexes have been constructed close to the former communist architectural glories.
